The Articase

Custom phone cases on demand. SEO-first marketing · Next.js · print API.

The Articase D2C custom phone case webshop + rental
In short

The Articase is a D2C webshop for custom phone cases made on demand. We built an SEO-first Next.js storefront connected to a print API, so each case is produced only after an order is placed. No inventory, strong search visibility and a smooth design-to-order flow for the customer.

— CHALLENGE

The challenge at The Articase.

The Articase wanted to sell custom phone cases on demand, with a rental option alongside. The hard part was not a pretty storefront but the chain behind it: a customer picks or uploads a design, and that has to reach the print partner as a print-ready file without any manual handling. On top of that came the marketing question. With no ad budget, growth had to come from organic traffic, so the site needed to be built SEO-first from day one. Uniting personalisation, rental and an SEO foundation in one scalable D2C shop was the real task.

— APPROACH

Our approach.

We built the store in Next.js, so product pages render server-side and the site is technically SEO-first: a clean URL structure, fast pages and per-case metadata. That fed directly into the SEO-first marketing approach meant to carry growth.

The core is the integration with a print API. A chosen or uploaded design is automatically turned into a print-ready order and pushed through, with no intermediate step. The rental variant got its own flow next to the regular purchase, so both models live in the same catalogue and checkout.

— OUTCOME

What it delivered.

The Articase runs as a D2C shop where custom phone cases are genuinely ordered and produced on demand. The print-API integration takes the manual work out of order processing: a design moves from selection to print-ready job without anyone in between, letting the shop scale with demand.

The SEO-first foundation in Next.js gives the marketing a solid base to build organic traffic on, rather than leaning on paid advertising. Purchase and rental sit side by side in one and the same webshop, managed by the client.
