— CHALLENGE

The challenge at ContraExperts.

ContraExperts is an authority site in counter-expertise, a niche corner of the legal sector where depth of content and findability decide everything. The existing setup ran on Decap CMS, where the editorial team kept hitting limits: rich articles, structured content and connections between topics were cumbersome to manage. The brief to NedDev was clear. Move the site to a CMS that makes editorial work comfortable, without losing the substantive depth an authority site depends on.

— APPROACH

Our approach.

We carried out a migration from Decap to Payload CMS. Along the way we remodelled the content: rich content fields, reusable blocks and a field structure suited to longer, in-depth articles on counter-expertise. The existing copy was migrated carefully so nothing was lost.

Payload gives the editors an accessible management environment and gives us, as a studio, the freedom to tailor data models precisely to the subject matter. We kept the stack lean and maintainable, with attention to clean content export and a setup that grows with new topics.

— OUTCOME

What it delivered.

The site now runs entirely on Payload CMS. Editors manage articles through a rich editor instead of the more limited Decap flow, and the structured content is better suited to the authority position ContraExperts pursues.

During the migration one item remained open: the richText body field did not render correctly in the admin panel. That was logged as a known point of attention and addressed, so the editorial team can ultimately work with full text formatting without obstacles.
